Wotofo is a favorite company of ours for sure. Their Serpent Mini is still an atty in our daily rotation. The original Sapor RDA was a pretty decent dripper and so we were interested in the RTA of the same name and top style of airflow, but we tried a couple friends builds and weren’t impressed. Then comes along Mr. Trevor Jones with a build video and a claim that it was a flavour monster so we had to take a second, more in depth look.
At first glance it’s a tall design, with pretty busy design cues. The deck is a standard velocity style and the juice flow control works pretty flawlessly. The top fill has large fill holes and all the threading is pretty smooth throughout the whole atty. The best part is the smooth airflow with AFC ring and it’s top airflow, so this tank will never leak, maybe flood if wicked wrong, but leaking, no way. There is a pretty big flaw in the design however, the connection where the deck attaches wobbles even when full tightened down. The problem seems to be at the connection point, it has a dual purpose, both deck connection and juice flow control, maybe it’s an o-ring size issue but either way it’s a tad annoying. The good news however is it doesn’t effect performance in the slightest and at this price point it can be forgiven.
Flavour is really good as long as you have your coils positioned correctly. The build in this case is not as forgiving as other attys, it has to be a particular way to get the flavour you crave. Coils need to sit higher than the posts and sit just below the top airflow inlets. They also need to sit close to the posts so the coils are half under the airflow inlets and half under the chimney (watch Trevor’s video for more clarity). Get the build right, which isn’t that hard once you know what to go for, and the flavour is pretty dope.
The airflow is very smooth and reasonably quiet. The AFC ring works well and there is a good amount of adjustment, the flavour is good throughout all settings. Just dial it in for the flavour intensity you are looking for.
The build for this one is all about the claptons. Sit them high like we mentioned and don’t worry about spit back, we haven’t had any. We are rocking dual, 2.5mm, 6 wrap, fused claptons (28/36), coming in at 0.3 Ohms, and run at 45-55W. It’s a nice slightly warm, flavourful vape. There is a tiny bit of ramp up seeing as the coils are being run at rather low volts (3.6-4.02V). But once the coils are warmed up it’s a really enjoyable vape.
Wicking is very good when set right, you want the wicks just resting on the juice flow channels. Try not to get any wicking in the channels. The Sapor does a great job of keeping claptons nicely saturated, better than most really.
Juice capacity is surprisingly small for how tall the Sapor RTA is. It’s about 2ml and it lasts about an hour of heavy vaping, but it can be filled very quickly and easily. You just need to keep a bottle of juice at hand with this tank.
So if you can get over the slightly busy aesthetics, the tall size, and the slight wobble on the juice flow control, it’s a tank worth grabbing. The price point is extremely reasonable for how well it performs. To be honest we have been using it pretty heavily, it tastes great and we like how easy it is to use and fill. Builds seem to last a little longer too thanks to the great juice flow/wicking keeping your coils nice and saturated. In the end it’s an underrated tank that everyone needs to give a go.
