We weren’t too happy with the original 25mm Steam Crave Supreme because it was just too darned big and needed big coils and tons of power to accomplish the flavour performance we look for and once it got there it was just too hot of a vape. So when were heard about a Lite or 23mm version it piqued our interest to give the Supreme another shot.
We like the look of the original and the Lite is identical in almost every way to its larger brother. One nice difference is the inclusion of a ceramic block to block off one side of the build deck for single coil builds. It does a good job but we prefer dual builds to get the best flavour. It really is just a scaled down version of the same design, now this helps solve a lot of the original shortcomings (check out our Supreme 25mm review), it no longer needs crazy builds and doesn’t produce a crazy warm vape if you don’t want one. But we really wish that Steam Crave addressed the chimney size in this new Lite version. It’s simply too big, creating too much airflow and losing a ton of potential flavour production in the process.
The flavour is decent, but there is something a little too airy or almost metallic about it. We think it’s the oversized chimney and lack of a domed or funnelled top inner surface to the vapor chamber.
Vapor production is as good as the original but lacks that flavour density we would like to see/experience. The AFC is again a stepped approach and we still find it gathers a ton of condensation which eventually becomes an issue and needs to be cleaned (in other words it’s not the cleanest user experience).
To get the best out of this atty, throw in a dual build around 0.2-0.4 Ohms and run it 55-65W with the AFC open a little less than half on one of the extreme edges (this leaves a slit or a decent sized circular hole). As for wicking it’s great as long as you set your wicks to just touch the deck, wicking any Aromamizer RDTA model needs to be just so to perform best, over stuffing the deck really effects flavour and performance.
In the end the Supreme Lite is a better version of itself, it’s the model Steam Crave should have released first. But it still lacks something… The potential is there, it’s just not great. It has many great qualities (Great Top Fill, Juice Flow Control, Fit & Finish) but the flavour could be better. Like the original, if you value clouds over flavour it’s a tank you should check out.
i still think the original v1/v2 mops the floor with the supreme/lite in terms of flavor production though.
