The Psyclone Hadaly RDA is a buzzing with hype. Another dual airflow on a single coil design and in this case really quad airflow. The Hadaly is a member of a small club with the likes of theNarDA and O-Atty. Let’s see how she stacks up…
It’s a nice clean design aesthetic with crisp lines and a pretty nondescript exterior (something we like). The overall finish and quality is pretty good, it may not match the price tag, but good (it’s priced a little steep for a mass made in China atty). That said the Hadaly shines on the inside. The V shaped quad airflow does it’s job and is married to one of the most innovative build decks of the year. Clamps have been popular this year but these take things to a new level.
Flavour is very clean and crisp. Getting the right build with the right amount of power is paramount for this atty. It craves a lot more power than you think it would need. It shines in and above the 5V mark which isn’t a normal range for a flavourchasing atty. But once you get her dialed in the flavour is very very good.
Airflow is pretty smooth and pretty quite. Wide open is a nice lung hit with a nice restriction. Closing down the airflow a tad leads to more intensity on the flavour, however the AFC holes have some trouble staying equally open based on the radius of the top cap and overall design. It doesn’t seem to effect performance but it does bother us to see the holes unequal and needs to be mentioned. There is a bit of noise but nothing too serious or bothersome.
Building is a treat! This is where the design truly shines. The clamp design is a thing of beauty, easily one of the most innovative decks of the year. Set up your coil so your wick leads match the direction of the clamps and it just slides/twists into place. The clamps make a solid connection each and every time and aligning your coil with the airflow needs very little attention. This is one of the quickest builds you will ever do. We fought with the Hadaly, we tried many builds trying to find the perfect one, in the end it’s less about the build and more about the power you throw at it. We found that 3mm is the smallest build we suggest, and a 3.5mm is pretty spot on. You want your coil to be wide enough to benefit from all 4 airflow holes, so a 6-9 wraps should do the trick. We are rocking a 3mm 26/36 316L Clapton coming in at 0.75 Ohms and run it in around 40W which is about 5.5V. This is some crazy power for the vape you get, it’s full flavour and perfectly warm (not as crazy as you would think it should be with that amount of power).
The juice well is pretty deep, easily taking 20-25 drops from a unicorn bottle (12-15 from a regular dropper) and lasts 7-10 long glorious hauls before a redrip is needed. So if rather regular dripping isn’t your thing the BF pin is the way to go. The well is shallow for squonking, those airflow holes come quick and so does the juice, you will need to adjust your squonking method for this one (it needs smaller bottle squeezes for sure). Taking the top cap off leads to a bit of mess, like the NarDA, the tall sections inside the atty create condensation issues that force juice out of the barrel when reapplying the top cap. So keep this in mind and try to drip down the top instead.
The Hadaly deserves it’s place in flavourchasing history. It has some quirks that may bother you a bit (power and juice hungry, messy at times, bit pricey), but the flavour is there in spades. And really the cost is lower than many attys with similar performance and it’s pretty easy to get your hands on. For the first atty Psyclone has released it’s very impressive. We can’t wait to see what’s next.
Thanks for the another great review.
I’ve been waiting for your review about this atty.
Before i buy a new atty I always read your reviews and your recomendation. based on that I’ve bought a m-atty, le-magister, drifter, serpent mini, and o-atty. (all clone except serpent mini).
now time to grab authentic.
So in the end, which one would you suggest between havoc and this one?
and like you said above, in the small club which one would you suggest between NarDA, O-Atty, and Hadaly?
thanks.
Havoc and O-atty for the win.
Specially in performance?
Mouth to lung or DL?
Hey T_Mace,
More of a DTL, you can shut down one AFC inlet per side but it’s still on the Lung hit side of things. If you are looking for a MTL rda, check out Hellfire Mods out of the UK for some great options.
Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated, will check them out!
This thing isn’t Chinese at the place that builds them is right in town ! Lol
Hey Wade,
Psyclone Mods is an American company and Mac Carlson is awesome. The Design is American but the manufacturing is in fact done in China. Still doesn’t change how awesome the atty is.
I know it’s American I was correcting the gentleman who did the article. One of his cons was cheaply made in China.
I am that gentleman 🙂 and it is produced in China.
Well now I feel cheated I know what store im not visiting anymore.
Can u show me how to build if i use normal wire look like kanthal 24, 26, or ni80 24, please?
Hey Aan,
The wire gauge and material only makes a difference based on the temp and style of vape you are looking for. Nice 4-5 wrap 24 awg 3mm parallel builds are nice on the Hadaly (especially for mech squonkers). Vape on!
Thx sir, now i try build ni80 5 wrap 24 awg dia 3
It’s so “wow” flavour
I always take and wrap my coil clockwise and leave both leads facing upward. Should slide right in perfectly. If you wrap the other way you have to move the coil around to get it to line up over the holes more. I usually use 26 gauge 4.5 wraps how it ends up, with a 3.5 mm
Diameter.
