Hellfire is a legendary company out of the UK best known for their incredible quality and tighter draw attys (and pretty awesome mods). Well along comes the Havoc, their first serious foray into a DTL atty. Don’t let the super clean lines fool you, their is some serious engineering and design thinking going on…
The build quality and fit & finish are hard to rival, this is some of the best we have ever seen. There is not a single fault anywhere. The exterior is super clean, with the large chuff cap installed it has a unique and signature look that is easily recognizable. This is a top airflow design like no other, the top AFC ring controls airflow that travels down cutout channels in the center barrel that lead directly to the coils (there are channels for both a dual or single build). What is different is the location of your coils, they sit very low to the base of the atty, so low that you would think airflow would be stifled. Your wicks run basically parallel to the base of the atty as well, this leads to incredible wicking. The whole design is awe inspiring, it truly is a new approach. The build deck is also rather unique, it consists of to post blocks, one is higher than the other to deal with the natural height difference of your coil leads. There are little channels that trap your wire perfectly. And even though it looks a little tall, the vapor chamber is rather condensed. The O-ring tolerances are perfect, the center barrel never moves and the top cap comes off with ease while still retaining enough resistance to stay when it should. Everything about this atty screams serious thought and intension. This is form and function in a pure state.
Flavour, oh the flavour. This is our new favourite atty. The flavour is intense, rich, saturated, with an impressive amount of vapor. The Hellfire Havoc is a serious contender for the best RDA of the year. When top airflow functions right it can rival bottom and side airflow, it has the benefit of controlling spit back better than the other two options and has a crispness to its flavour performance. The inner airflow channels make this almost a bit of a hybrid between a top and side airflow system, they do an incredible job go directing the airflow to the coil/s. While the 17mm Chuff looks dope, we find the flavour more our speed (more intense) with a standard drip tip. There are 12mm Chuffs in Delrin and Ultem available separately that may be better, but getting your hands on one is another story (sellout in seconds with each release).
Swooshy, silky smooth airflow is what it’s all about. The AFC is a pleasure to work with, simple to set and holds the setting every time. The usual benefit of no leaking thanks to the top airflow applies here too. We like the airflow closed down to about half but the flavour is pretty great throughout the range.
The Havoc shines as a squonking atty. It’s not the deepest juice well, so while it can be used traditionally you will find yourself dripping alot if you do. So for squonking the build is lower than non squonking. We have been bitten by the 3D printed mech squonking craze. A 0.2-0.3 Ohm build does great on these devices. But you can build this atty in many ways, it’s pretty versatile. Our favourite build uses a new wire type, Stainless Steel 430 magnetic. We learned about this wire from the European squonking scene. It has super clean flavour, ramps quick, and can be used in temp or regular mods. So, a dual, 6 wrap, spaced, 2.5mm, SS430 25awg, coming in around 0.2 Ohms performs like a champ on a mech squonker, it also performs very well on a Pico Squeeze (Review coming shortly). It’s a perfectly warm, super tasty vape!
The Hellfire Havoc is a game changer. The design is so different and so easy to work with while providing an incredible vape. There are no cons other than limited supply and a rather steep cost of entry. At 105£ we are talking a decent amount of cash, but owning one is a sheer treat, the quality and design thinking will blow you away. Getting one isn’t easy, we suggest you join their Facebook group as they do announce when new releases hit their site. It’s a waiting game, but it’s well worth it. If you are getting into squonking the Havoc is the perfect atty to blow your socks off.
Thanks for the another great review.
So in the end, which one would you suggest between the o-atty, nipple and this one ?
This one.
Wow its that good huh . Just got myself the O-atty . It blew my mind how good it is compared to my Narda . Now you tell me this one is better . Thats like flavour nirvana teritory .
Hello Ryan,
Outstanding review as always. Actually, I’m on a hunt for a Havoc. On the other hand, we all flavor chasers need a list of flavor performance for the atties you’ve reviewed here. The most common question that comes up with any new review is “how is the flavor compare to other atties”. I trust your word when you say that the flavor is good and I’ve bought A Drifter, An O-Atty and Rose3 based on your recommendation and I’m glad that I did. Just having that list would make buying a new atty much more easier on us. Looking forward for your next review.
That would be nice, but think about the monster job of painstakingly retesting them to place them in order when they’re all so close. It would be a lifestyle: flavour slave.
Hi guys,
Thanks for the beautiful reviews.
I finally found a beautiful Havoc with ultem wide-bore chuff cap.
I’m rocking this amazing piece but i’m asking myself: Which is the most airy flavor-atty on the market?
Is it the Havoc the most airy or there are something more open?
This thing is incredible: outstanding quality, great concept but very hard to find.
I prefer it over Narda, M-Atty and Rev.
Thanks in advance
