We love innovation and it’s hard to come by RDAs that really offer something new and/or different. AB1 Mach E-Shop out of Quezon City in the Philippines has come up with something really unique in their Mirage EVO(Enhanced-Valve-Output) RDA.
The aesthetic is pretty polarizing, it has a real evil vibe going on with a drip tip that not only adds a flair to the look but feels great on the lips. It almost has a buddhist look to it, the lines are curved with lots of detail created by the seams of the center ring. Under the top cap there is a lot going on, there is a floating domed inner top cap that can act like a vacuum airflow release when the outter top cap is loosened off to give it space to travel. So basically this RDA can act like a bong and give an extra rush of vapor as you max out your inhale. This feature is what makes it not only unique, but one of the first RDAs that can satisfy the Flavour and Cloudchaser. With the valve system off there is a nice restrictive lung hit with tons of flavour from a bottom airflow and rather condensed vapor chamber. Open the system and it’s clouds bro clouds. Another way to look at this Atty is it’s great for those moments when you want that extra hit, open it up and go nuts.
The flavour is incredible, some of the best we have had out of any atty. So clean and crisp you can vape 6mg nic with pleasure, which is saying a lot. There is one major downside or cost to this flavour, there is little to no juice capacity. You are lucky to get 8-10 drops in the well and it will last no more than 10 hauls. So if you don’t like dripping often this atty isn’t for you. Really it’s for the flavour connoisseurs or juice reviewers. You will enjoy the hell out of it, but get ready to drip your ass off.
The design is mess free, even if you over drip it will pool in the lower part of the deck and get pulled back up to the wicks. The O-ring tolerances are nailed, everything about the fit and finish is perfect. It should be at what this baby costs, it’s not cheap. Another con that isn’t too big of an issue but is rather surprising is the press fit 510 connection, while it does protrude enough to work safely on mech mods, it isn’t adjustable and may make the atty not sit flush on some mods.
The build deck is designed to work with offset coils that sit just above airflow outlets on the bottom of the deck. It makes for some pretty easy building and setting your wicks is a little different but easy to get used to. You need one wick lead longer than the other to sit in the larger part of the juice well while the smaller lead tucks into a much smaller juice channel. A nice dual 24awg, 5 wrap, 2.5mm build ohming in at 0.2 run at 50-55W is just stellar. It’s a slightly warm vape, really rather cool for that kind of build, the whole atty does well with dispersing heat and never gets too hot. We find ourselves vaping it with just bottom airflow most of the time, the flavour is just so good! Also when you aren’t using the valve system there is no aligning the side airflow so it gets easier to use.
We have a bit of a love/hate thing going on for the Mirage EVO, the flavour is so good but dripping every 5 minutes is a little nuts. We have to look back to our mission to find the best flavour in vaping and this atty checks off a lot of boxes, so we have to recommend it simply based on the flavour quality and vape experience. Get one if you hold flavour above all else and are cool to have a bottle of juice in your other hand everytime you vape it. Now if it had a larger juice well… it would be the ultimate atty!
