Where to begin… Well first we can’t thank our friends at Carrack Vape enough for sending this on for review. Second, Deathwish Modz is the creation of a down right awesome human, Maxime Dube. With a couple of years of producing this great gear under his belt, we finally have our hands on some to take a look…
This is not cheap stuff. The second you get it in your hand you understand why. The quality of materials and detail is outstanding. The laser etched artwork that comes in a variety of themes is ridiculously detailed and high resolution. The threads, o-rings, springs, are all perfect, basically anything that has a tolerance has not been overlooked and fine-tuned. The simplicity of the button design and how it eliminates battery rattle using simple inner travel on thread design is smart. The RDA has an aesthetic that matches the mod so well that we had to review them together. This is more of an all-one than a separate deal. It would be a shame to not run them together permanently. The build deck is chunky and can handle the rowdy coils this thing screams for. The balls at the bottom of the wire lead/post holes is an insanely great idea and detail. As simple as the deck looks this little design addition really helps with clamping down your dual coil builds evenly and securely. Design has top marks.
Flavour from the unholy is surprisingly good for a rather large RDA. Being flavourchasers we are almost always after a restricted lung hit or tighter and you would be surprised to see how far you can close down the AFC. With the right coil and the airflow set to your liking you can expect a seriously satisfying vape, which has to be a contributing factor to Deathwish’s cult following (sure, Maxime and is beautiful personality has something to do with it too).
Airflow as we stated is extremely versatile and rather smooth and quiet. And yes you can open it up for an extreme cloud session if you so choose. The x pattern to the AFC slot on each side is a unique design. The top cap has the same design inside but also includes two single diagonal slots. So you can play with a wide variety of options to you find what’s just right for you. One little niggle is you can’t turn off a side of the atty, so dual builds are probably best. Our favourite setting is the X slots close all the way off to just to small circles so it hits the coils from the top and bottom.
Building is pretty simple thanks to large post holes, those awesome balls at the bottom of the posts really make a difference. Building nice nichrome captions ohming in around 0.15-0.25 seems to give us the nice warm vape we are looking for. The Unholy can take some large coils for sure, 3.5mm ID easily.
The Juice well is deep thanks to it’s size and you can almost dump blindly into it. Well not really, but 20-30 drops no problem. With large coils the wad of cotton you will have will also stay nice and saturated for quite the little vape session.
Conductivity thanks to the all copper contacts is high. The button hits nicely and has a bit of long travel (but probably safer in the long run). The Crossbones v2 is a hybrid only 510 connect, it’s got buttery smooth threads but you will have to feel comfortable with running this kind of mod. And please be careful and know your ohms law and battery safety.
Well it’s clear or should be that we love the Deathwish setups. This is for the mech vaper connoisseur looking for the ideal, bullet proof setup. These will last a lifetime. Sure they are a little pricey but the quality makes up for it. The artwork you choose will have you staring lovingly at your mod for hours. The finish on ours hasn’t tarnished other than the copper fire button (easy to polish up quick), not sure what it would be like to clean all the detailed bits on the battery tube if you got a copper, gold or silver. But in Gun metal these babies look stunning. If you are a mech mod lover and haven’t treated yourself yet to a Deathwish setup, now is the time.
