The D2 has to be one of the sexiest affordable little mods on the market. With its almost evil and super clean lines and great power (75W) for it’s size this is a must have in your collection. Could be one of the stealthiest vapes around.
Pioneer4U has had a lot of hits and misses, some people love their mods and others can’t stand them. We have played with some of their others and have always found them missing the mark somehow (not aesthetically pleasing, too big, flaky performance, etc…). Well the D2 is a different story! The biggest thing going for it is its size, it’s down right tiny and damn sexy to boot! This is the perfect mod if you are trying to be stealthy or just don’t want to fill you pocket.
Build quality is quite good for the price point, no rattles or cheap shortcuts you will notice. The one area that looks a little janky is the 510 connector, it looks adjustable but it’s not, it’s spring loaded but some attys don’t sit completely flush. The good news is the rubber case hides the gab. This mod feels very good in the hand, has a nice weight and a great shape to it. The screen is nice and bright with a good crisp image. The menu system works well (5 clicks and your in, all there is to do is switch between Temp and Power mode) and is easy to navigate/use.
Battery life is decent for a single 18650 battery mod, noticeably better than the Sigelei 75W TC. Just make sure to get the highest mAh batteries you can find (don’t worry as much about the amps seeing as it’s a regulated mod). To get through the day you will need at least 2 batteries if your vaping over 20W.
Power is great in this little baby, more than you will need in most cases. We found vaping a 0.3 Ohm build at 40-50W is a great vape. We haven’t noticed the mod heating up too much either. Temp Mode works! We have heard that some folks have trouble with it, but we haven’t had any issues at all. Actually it works really well! The one thing to note is you can really hear the Pulse Width Modulation in Temp Mode. We built a 0.06 Ohm Nickel single coil build and run it at 485F and 50J and it’s an awesome vape. For those of you looking for a great Temp Atty the Hobo v3 or v3.1 is one of the best we have come across, it’s the solid base in the post holes (makes awesome contact).
There really is nothing we can fault in the D2. This is a great affordable mod! If the 510 was a little better and Temp Mode fired to 75J we would be giving this a perfect rating. At $80 everyone should own one of these. They are great with a small dripper or tank on them, one of the nicest stealthy vapes around. Way to go Pioneer4U you finally got it right. It will be interesting to see what they do next.
