The Philippines has a serious vape scene going on. Not everyone knows it, or may not take it seriously, but there is some exciting stuff coming out of the region lately. And GOM or Guild of Modders is a group that can’t be ignored. Dave Cho & Joie Ferrer are dreaming up some gorgeous works of art that vape damn fine. They deserve their spot in the high end space and ask pretty fair prices for their kick ass work.

Meet the Nemean, a simple 18650 mech mod. Though we aren’t sure you would call this hand sculpted, trigger fire mod simple. They are priced fairly and come in a wide range of materials/finishes. Let’s get into it…

The shape is polarizing, it will speak to you or not. It speaks to us and it’s very comfortable to hold. It can be finger or thumb fired, making it an ambidextrous shape. We like to hold and fire both ways, it’s hard to decide what’s best or more comfortable. It’s a tiny mod, yet the top plate allows for 24mm+ attys without overhang. The design of the custom fire button is fluid and the surrounding ring adds nice detail. The finishes are countless with the body available in Delrin, Resin, Stab Wood & Hybrid. The battery tube is also available in several finishes or even with custom artwork of your choosing laser etched on it. So you can truly design a Nemean of your own if you wish. The threads on the 510 and battery cap are silky smooth. Everything about the Nemean feels solid and well thought through.

Conductivity is good thanks to the full copper internals. The button throw is a tad long but it fires every time. This could also be seen as a safety feature, hard to fully press in a pocket. Tearing down the Nemean for a full cleaning is easy, the design was thoughtful (remove button, tube lock screw and 510 plate and pin)

Fit & Finish is pretty near perfect. All the right tolerances in the right places. The bumps, contours, cuts, all done with exacting standards. On ours there is some hand work present around were the battery tube meets the wood body, we like it, lets you know it was made by some one with their hands for you. It wasn’t C&C by a machine. This is a mod that feels much more expensive than you pay for it.

We don’t like mech mods, we find them dangerous, and a pain to carry around (you need to carry extra batteries). But the GOM Nemean spoke to us, something about the shape and style of it (to be clear we don’t like guns either, so it wasn’t the trigger style either). It’s hard to describe when you connect with a shape. This mod has a very organic feel, and a true sense of craftsmanship is evident in the quality. If you like mechs or like us the shape speaks to you, go get one. At the starting price of $95 they are a steal.
