It’s big, it’s really a Cloudchasing atty, but wow is the IJOY Limitless RDTA great. It might just be the first tank to successfully make everyone happy…
The look is pretty clean, and the design is rather innovative. It has some similarities to the Wismec Theorem with a raised deck that sits right below your drip tip and wicking channels that are cut out of the deck that allow your wicks to hang down into the tank. But as much as it is similar it is also different. The innovation is in the screw down ring that sits under the build deck and secures your wicks in place and also has a fill hole for super easy side filling of up to 6ml of juice. Another nice touch is that your wick leads only have to be long enough to reach the top of the glass section so they are hidden from view and keep things looking nice and tidy.
Flavour is very good, and it should be, your coils are very close to your mouth. Being a cloud bro clouds tank means it needs power and big ass coils to perform, but you can close down the AFC (1/4-1/3) and the power and have a rather flavourful vape. It is on the warmer side, nothing crazy but it may be a con for some.
Airflow is more than you could ever really need (especially for Flavourchasing), but it’s smooth, and accurate. Placing you coils so they rest just above airflow slots will garner the best flavour, and like we said earlier, close down your AFC to no more than the width of your coils for a nice flavourful restricted draw. It’s important to make sure the open slots are perfectly centered on the coils too.
Build is a breeze, it’s a Velocity deck with large post holes that can accommodate anything you throw at them. Claptons is where this atty shines. We like 27/32 Twisted Spaced Claptons, 5 wraps, 3.5mm, coming in at 0.3 Ohms and run between 55-70W. This produces a dense flavourful warm vape. This is a Genesis inspired design, so tilting when in use is mandatory, and make sure you tilt it so both coils have a chance to wick (coils vertically parallel to your mouth) this will get the best results. Also occasionally switching sides is a good idea for overall build health and longevity.
Filling is very easy and some what pain free. You can easily pop the top cap to reveal the side fill, make sure your wick leads aren’t in the way and angle your dropper to allow for air to escape. Take you time, it will overflow if you rush it, but by no means is it a long process. 6ml of juice lasts a decent amount of time.
To get the most enjoyable flavour out of this atty it’s important to throw on a longer drip tip. Any 11mm board tip will fit (Kennedy, Goon, Griffin, etc..) and helps with the heat of the vape and truly improves flavour. The included drip tip attachment while it may help with spit back and make the tip a little longer, doesn’t do much for improving flavour.
The IJOY Limitless really is a tank that bridges the gap between Cloudchasing and Flavourchasing. It’s about time Cloudchasers got some more than decent flavour! Think of this as a tank you pull out when you have been MTLing for too long and want a rowdy vape. It’s not something a flavourchaser is going to want to vape all the time, but it’s nice to have when you just want more vapor, it’s great if you’re outdoors and sitting by a fire. For Cloudchasers, this is a must have and for everyone else, it’s fun to play with and try out some crazy coils on.
How does the newest limitless gold rdta compare to this?
Hey Locho,
Not sure, guessing there aren’t major differences. Both should be decent vapes is our guess.
