We don’t usually cover products from the same modder/company back to back, but we are just too impressed with their new atty, the Ultimate 1.0 RDA. Made of predominantly Ultem it’s a fitting name and a sexy little atty. Designed for squonking this is one tiny little number that packs a lot in a small package.
Yet another dual airflow on a single coil deck design. This is quickly becoming the standard for awesome flavourchasing attys (got to tip the hat to the NarDA) and everyone has their take on one. GOM has two, they had their Majestic and now the Ultimate. The big difference is the airflow inlets are made of full ultem and are removable and can be positioned for perfect alignment with your build. And then there is an outer top cap that acts as the AFC. It makes for an easy build and gives an overall translucent look that is pretty damn dope. You would think all this plastic would melt under heat, but we all know how resistant to heat ultem is by now. Finish and quality of materials is high and meet the higher price point expectations. The Post screws are huge and easily capture any wire lead you throw at them. This is a bf or squonking atty only, there is a small juice well because of this but GOM has added two difference length BF pins to help make connection with you favourite squonker (nice touch). It’s one of those so simple it hurts designs that works just so well.
Flavour is very dense and saturated and it should be for the direct airflow and how small the chamber is. That’s what’s so cool about the design, once all together there is very little room except for the yummy vapor to hit your mouth.
Airflow is quite and smooth and there isn’t any spit back that can be a problem with attys of this design. The AFC can be closed down for a true MTL or fully open for a satisfying restricted lung hit (a little on the tight side, just right really).
Building is simple when you can get things out of your way. With both caps off it’s just the build deck with those large flathead screws and nothing else. A nice 45º angle on your coil does the trick and leaves room for the airflow inlet ring to snap into place. As for builds, it depends on the warmth you are looking for, we play around 0.25-0.4 Ohms. 5 wraps of 24 awg with a 2.5mm ID at 0.4 is pretty awesome. You need to be aware of your coil length to leave breathing room for you wick leads and the airflow inlets. Place you wicks in before your airflow inlet ring to make it easier and tidier on yourself. Once it’s all together it sure is a tidy little package, makes OCD types very happy.
The squonking action is very good and the design again has been thought through. The airflow inlet ring hangs over the juice well and the translucent ultem lets you monitor your juice level pretty well, really there is a pretty great juice well for the size of the Ultimate.
Calling an atty the Ultimate could be seen as cocky or maybe it’s just a play on the Ultem material it’s made of, or worse, both. But the Ultimate 1.0 is pretty damn awesome. The only real gripe is the price, it’s a little high but maybe its the cost of production on this one, GOM is usually pretty fair on their pricing. The airflow inlet ring looks like a pricey piece to make. The design is nailed, oh and the o-ring tolerances are bang on too. If you haven’t gathered we love the Ultimate, is it the best of the year? Hard to say, there are so many great attys right now, but is it on the list? Oh yeah! These attys are getting popular, join their Facebook group and pay attention for the next release. Awesome work fellas, here is to the killer vape scene stirring up in the Philippines!
This is probably the most flavorful RDA I ever use and he’s now following me everywhere!!!
You guys did a nice review that truly reflect the awesomeness of this killer RDA!
However, here’s few thing that could have been mentionned in your review!
1. “This is a bf or squonking atty only” -> This is not true, when the short bf pin is used, a screw (included) can be added within the deck to prevent any leaking so the ultimate (just like the majestic) can be use on a non-squoking mod!
2. You forgot to mention that few lucky people will get (randomly throughout the lists) the black ultem limited edition that come with both the black ultem inlet and outer cap as well as the yellow ultem inlet/cap included in the standard edition!!!
3. Last but not least… the packaging is awesome! The GOM attys are delivered in a cylinder wood case with the name and logo of the atty engraved on it! This is (for me) way better than the normal/standard boxes/packaging we’re used to see by now…
would u say its more flavourable than the hadaly?, ive been smashing a 1.20ohm 26/32awg 6 wrap clapton on it for the past 9 months and noone elses builds or atties ivetried come close so far. just wonderig if this would top it, or be aother unicorn like the narda i cant get hold of
In our opinion it far exceeds the performance of the Hadaly. It is a much tighter draw however.
Hey Ryan…
Please do a review for new Solo RDA, i think its best to compare with Hadaly/Armor/similiar deck build type.
Thank you.
It’s coming…
“far exceeds the performance of the Hadaly”
Never have these words been spoken in conjunction. I’ve heard “maybe slightly better than the Hadaly, if…”
I WAS totally Hadaly addicted…now i bought 2 of these JEWELS.
No words!!!!
