We don’t often take the time to review an accessory and we haven’t reviewed the Juul but the Jili Mini Charger is so good it can’t be ignored. We all know how great the Juul is and that is why we haven’t reviewed it. The latest version has also improved the connection ports and added the crazy party mode (lights change colour when you shake or move your arm around). But one thing that has and is still an issue with the Juul is battery life. Well Jili has a solution and it’s damn good!
At first you might think this little charge box adds a lot of mass/size to the dainty little Juul. But the benefit far exceeds the trade off and it is still very pocketable. The finish isn’t exactly but very close to the gun metal of the Juul. There is even a mirrored top cut out that is the same shape as the Juul’s pod insert base. The exterior is pretty clean other than too logo placements (one on front and the other on top), both of which we wish weren’t there (just one on the bottom would be some much cleaner). There are 3 LED indicators on the left side of the front that give you the battery level of the charger. On the side you will find a mini USB charge port for recharging, which it does pretty rapidly. The cut out or window on the right top side of the front allows you to monitor the battery level and charge status of the Juul itself. The rest of the Jili Mini is clean and elegant. There is a nice weight and solid feel to the whole package. Using this with the Juul adds a level of sophistication that gets noticed, many times we have been asked about this set up and it makes for a great formal occasion or stealth setup.
It’s not prefect, well it does the intended job perfectly. It dramatically increases battery life and therefore the usability of the Juul. We have gone 2 or 3 days without recharging the charger and enjoyed our after hour, pod after pod. So where does it fall short, it’s mostly picky little things, and why we get picky is we love this device. Other than the branding being a little busy for us, there are sharpish edges on the top and bottom, we are seeing the start of some wear on the finish inside the sleeve and on top, and the bottom cap or section of the jili is misaligned by about 1/2mm (just enough to notice). We are happy to report though that there has been no where on the Juul, which we thought might happen with it sliding in and out of the charger so much. There is one issue that happens now and then that some may see as big, the magnets inside the sleeve sometimes grab to strong of a hold of the Juul and you end up pulling the pod out instead of the whole thing. You can usually add a little side pressure and get it out, but it happens. But none of these little issues would stop us from using the Jili Mini, also it’s super affordable. It has completely changed our relationship with the Juul and made it one of our go to mods/vapes when going out and not wanting to deal with a traditional setup. Jili also makes another charger with a flip top and room for two extra pods which sounds great, but for us the aesthetics and plastic construction make it something we will avoid. But the Mini, get one, get one now. They sell out quick.
