S-Body is the next big Asian Mod company to watch. They got some buzz of the their Elfin DNA40 thanks to its size and build quality. They are producing the latest Vape Droid the s29 and their new Elfin DNA75 is a great little package.
This is a tiny mod with tons of power and features thanks to the Evolve DNA75 chipset. The Chipset is an identical chip to its bigger brother the DNA200, you get all the same great features and software control but without the need for a LiPO battery (we love LiPOs but we get that some vapers don’t). It will run on a single or dual 18650 or 26650, but the Elfin is an internal single 18650 1800 mAh battery. But before you write it off, we have found that the chip is really efficient, and as long as you keep your builds not too low, say 0.5 Ohms(and run no more than 35-40W) you can easily get a full day of vaping (8+ hours/charge).
The size is what makes this mod really stand out, it’s the perfect mod to take out with you. Throw on a condensed/small RDA or Tank/RTA and you have a very pocketable setup. If you need reference the Elfin is basically is slightly smaller than a Pioneer4U D2/3. It’s got a nice weight to it, feels substantial and has a nice rubberized finish. The finish looks like it should hold up, we do have a small nick in ours but we had it in a bag with some other shit and that might be the culprit. One of our favourite details is the glass display screen over the LCD, we wish more modders did this, it’s nice to not be marking up the bare LCD and it seems to be rather scratch resistant. Really the whole mod doesn’t show the finger prints which is nice for us OCD types. The only OCD gripe would be the indented branding on the top of the mod seems to collect vape condensation and isn’t the easiest to clean (a flat top surface would be much nicer). Their is a clip hole for a lanyard, it seems unnecessary, how many people really want to wear their setups around their neck?
Buttons feel great and their isn’t an ounce of rattle. It’s a great mod, maybe the fact it really can only handle 22mm attys without an overhang will be an issue for some, but for us the size is the main benefit. We don’t need to talk about the chipset, it’s Evolve, it’s great. The fact that the chip constantly monitors and adjusts for the resistance(refinement) is what makes these the best in the industry. S-Body has done a bang up job and has set everything up correctly in eScribe (The profiles weren’t great, but we usually customize them anyway).
The only real problem is availability, at the moment we can’t find it anywhere in North America for sale. More shops need to order some of these mods, for around $100 it’s easily one of the best compact mods on the market. If you can wait a bit (long distance shipping), order one out of Asia, you won’t regret it. This mod is going to get heavy use in our rotation, we haven’t been able to put it down since we received it. We are excited to see what else comes out of S-Body in the future!
Hey Ryan,
I just bought this mod after I saw your review. Actually my local shop got a few units of this mod just when you published this article. I was looking for a small mod and always wanted to have one with DNA200 within so this one looked great for my needs, although the rta I use at the moment is a little too big compared to the size of this mod. On this topic, I recommend you to try the flash e vapore rta, as it has been strictly made for flavor chasers.
As I’m new in the Evolv system, would you mind sharing your eScribe profile ? I’m not sure which tweaks need to be done from the ones made by Elfin.
Regards,
Alex
Hey Alex,
Happy to hear you grabbed an Elfin DNA75, it’s a great mod. To be honest S-Body did a great job with the eScribe profile. All we did was add some custom graphics, change the screen fading settings, and tweak a couple other user based things. You should be good to go right out of the box, everything else is personal preferences (i.e. 0.5 Watt increments instead of 0.1, Show battery %, etc…). The Flash E-vapor RTA looks pretty crazy, is it made by H-Cigar? Guessing it’s a old but a goody (out for a long time)? If you are having any issues with the Elfin, reach out. Enjoy!
Thanks for your answer. I did change the theme and customize profiles but I didn’t touch to the curves.
Flash e-vapore is its own brand. It’s a german one, not very known but you can only find good reviews about them. I like the use of drivers to get the juice on the wick, this system is supposed to magnify flavor, compared to the low pressure one. It results in a very saturated and creamy vape, I’m sure you will like it 😉
They released the v4 a few months ago . I found mine at a French seller who distribute the flash e-vapore product in France but I think they also deliver overseas. You can check them at pipeline-store.fr
