Eleaf makes some great entry level products. Their Pico kits are some of the best for new vapers. Then along comes this quiet little entry, The Aster. It’s a rather unique silhouette, the shape screams ergonomics and it’s a tight little package dolling out 75W.
Hand Feel is where it’s at with this one. It’s tall and slender with a perfect weight and balance. The button positions are all very well thought out. The fire button is instantly at your finger the second you pick it up. The buttons have a satisfying click, we just wish the materials for them where a little nicer (it’s okay, just a little plasticy). There is a tear drop feel to the mod that just sits right in the hand. The up/down buttons sit one above and one below the screen making it very easy to figure out and adjust blindly. The height of the mod fits an average sized hand perfectly, it’s a little taller than your average mod, but it makes up for it with how slender it is.
The chipset is a pretty standard Eleaf setup, it’s the same chip with the same features as the Pico. So it works well and has all the Temp Control settings you could need or want if that’s your thing. Sure this isn’t a high end mod but it has a lot going for it. The shape and size are designed to partner with 22mm attys, so if you are into the new 24-26mm craze this might not be a good choice.
Battery life is very good, easily outlasting many other 75W single 18650 mods on the market. We can get a good 6-8 hrs of vaping at around 50W. Power delivery is smooth and very consistent. The 510 has caused no issues and almost every atty will fit flush. The screen is nice and bright and tells you all you need to know.
There are 3 colorways (stainless, white, black) but we selected the stainless and it looks great with a matching stainless atty. The materials and finish very good for the price point. The stainless does get a little slick from excess juice and/or hand grease, but a simple wipe now and then does the trick. Nothing too slick to worry about dropping the mod. The finish surprisingly hides any trace of fingerprints.
The Aster feels awesome in the hand, it fits extremely well and everything is within perfect reach. At $30 it’s a steal. The design is very unique and looks great teamed up with a high end atty. The chipset is pretty bullet proof and the battery life is great. The Aster is a perfect candidate as a second mod to hit the road with when you still want some style but don’t want to risk one or your more valuable babies. It’s super pocket friendly and gets a surprising amount of attention every time you pull it out. Pick one up, it’s a great little mod.
