We’ll keep this short, we have a full review of the HOBOX (Stabilized Wood Version you can check out). But finally the much anticipated, much more attainable and affordable Aluminium version is here. And it’s all good news!
We were a little bent out of shape over what it took to obtain our original HOBOX and it cost almost double what this new one will cost you, but we still love it to death. And we love the Aluminium just as much if not more. It’s easy to get, just visit the Hobo Customs site and pick your colour (there are 8 brilliant colourways to choose from). As of right now (4:57pm, May 6, 2016) there are some available on their site in 4 of the 8 colours, and Hoberto and Team update stock often (almost every weekend). Gone is all the trouble of F5 wars and Facebook lists.
This is hands down the best DNA200 mod you can get for the money and the looks. Sure it’s a 900 mAh battery but the 1300 version is coming out any day now (for a little bit more, nothing to cry about). The settings are all dialled in thanks to Ari Mouratides of Sweet Spot Vapors, he has even taken the time to record a video showing you the ins and outs of how it’s set up in Escribe. It does come with the new Evolve firmware and comes out of the box setup up for Temp Control vaping, but you can create a profile in eScribe pretty quick with the temp control settings off (also turn off ‘Temperature Dominant’) to enjoy a standard wattage vape. Ari has also modified the battery curves and cutoff settings and the Aluminium HOBOX has a slightly improved battery life because of it.
The anodized finish is rugged as hell, after a couple of weeks of daily use there isn’t a mark anywhere on it. The black back cover really grows on you, at first we wished for a more monotone look (all the same colour), but all you have to do is throw a black drip tip on your atty or use a black atty to get some pretty dope matchy match.
There are some big improvements around the 510 connection, the adjustable pin is much firmer and holds its position much better/longer, and the connection plate is now secured by 3 screws instead on 1 (bye-bye atty lean). Also a very small detail that we quite like is the display screens are now glossy as opposed to matte. The whole mod feels firmer in the hand, it’s the rigidity of the Aluminium, and the texture of it is awesome too, gives enough grip and feels high end.
This is a quality device made by an outstanding dude (Hoberto Serrano), with the help of some great friends (Mark Makko – Wiring/Internals, Ari Mouratides – Software Configuration/Testing) and all for a $1/Watt. This is a no brainer, go pick a colour, pay for it, and enjoy the f*#k out of it! (Grab a Drifter RDA while you’re at it)

Really wish I could find these. Where can I buy one? Do they not have a website?
Hey Cade,
You can only find them second hand on Facebook sales groups.
They did, but the company closed their doors for new adventures. If you want theem you will need to buy them second hand.
