Vapedroid and SBody did a great job with the C1D2 and for those of you waiting for a dual 18650 version with more power meet the C2D1. A DNA250 with the same great aesthetic in a new form factor.
Right of the bat the C2D1 has many of the same design cues that have made Vapedroid mods famous. The clean lines with beautiful stainless buttons and those trademark inlet cutouts that make these mods look right at home in the hands of Darth Vader. That’s it really, this aesthetic has a real Star Wars quality to it, and has to contribute to the popularity for sure. A lot about the C2D1 is the same as its predecessor. Really the difference is in the shape, it’s a compact design, with a kidney shape to it. This makes it work well with a dual battery sled, but does also make it a tad awkward to hold. Finding the most comfortable grip will take a little playing with it. For us we prefer to palm it with the indent facing our hand and fire it with the side of our thumb. Another option is to place you thumb in the indent and index finger fire. Either way it’s not the most ergonomic design. We have to commend Ayman for trying something different. Vapedroids have a look that’s all their own, that’s a pretty hard task to pull off in todays market.
The Chipset is an Evolve DNA250 that maxes out at 167W in a dual 18650 configuration. Many will be happy to not have the 6.3V limitation of the C1D2 DNA75. Also, gone are the battery drain problems that plagued the C1D2. Like always, it’s a DNA board, we love them. Great power deliver with tons of configurations options thanks to eScribe.
Fit & Finish is improved as well. There is a new powder-coated finish with a smoother hand feel. It’s not as matte as the rubber but it is more durable. With over a month of heavy use there are no signs of flaking finish that also plagued the C1D2. We have notice that is does show scratches however, not to the metal, but deep enough to bother you. The base of the mod is down to the metal from simple everyday use (placing it down on smooth surfaces over and over). We baby our mods, so this is a sign that SBody still has room for improvement when it comes to finish quality. The rest of the mod is awesome, the great custom buttons with great click, and perfect battery sleds that are improved from the C1D2.
Battery Life is great and should be for a dual battery mod. The DNA250 is pretty efficient, we consistently get almost a full day of vaping in around 50W. Charging with the mod is great too, thanks to 2amp balance charging.
The C2D1 is a great addition to the Vapedroid family. It has the same great looks with a much more friendly battery configuration with more power. It will come down to wether you like the hand feel and form factor. But in the end it’s a great performing mod that can handle larger attys than its predecessor. There is a 3rd member of the family coming soon, the triple 18650 C3D1 DNA250, it’s big, not our thing but it maybe yours.
