So you find yourself in need of your first vape setup. You need to look at this investment as temporary, don’t spend a lot out of the gate till you are sure vaping will get you off the smokes. Once you are off the smokes for good then go as crazy as you want with your gear. Many of the start up kits out there could work for you for a long time, but if you are like us, soon you will want more out of your vape.
It’s about the style of vape you like, either you are a mouth to lung or a direct lung inhaler. The kits we suggest are both pretty simple to use, they both take disposable coils so no building coils, have internal batteries and chargers, and won’t break the bank.
We will update our recos as the market changes but right now these are your best bets.
Juices and what strength
This is important, be honest to yourself here. If you smoke a pack or more a day, start off with 18mg strength, if you are truly less try a 12mg juice. For those who are occasional smokers you can start at a 6mg strength. The first 10 days are going to be tough, your body is addicted to more than just the nicotine in smokes so you will have a bit of withdrawal from all those nasty additives. When times get rough, this goes for both styles of vapers, open up your air control all the way and take a bunch of inhales till you feel a bit of the nicotine buzz you remember from first smoke of the day (this will help).
The fun part is trying all the juices and flavours out there! Even if you want to start with a simple tobacco there are some many to choose from. The best part is it’s free to try at you local shop, make sure you give yourself at least an hour for your first visit, get comfortable try a bunch of juice and ask lots of questions.
A small thing to note, don’t want to over load you too much. All juices (most anyway) are a mix of vegetable and poly glycerine, and here again we have a trade off on flavour. The poly glycerine (PG) binds better to flavours but vapes harsher than vegetable glycerine(VG), so the most common mix is 50/50, but the more premium juices sway more towards VG for its smoother, thicker vaping qualities. So watch out for juices that go higher than 50% PG, they should be less expensive and may have stronger flavour but expect a bite in the vapor too.
