Vaping or Electronic Cigarettes are a healthier alternative to smoking. Why? There are far fewer chemicals than cigarettes and we have a good understanding of what they do to the body (unlike cigarettes where we still don’t even know what some of the chemicals are in them), however we still don’t fully know what long term inhalation of these chemicals may do to our bodies, so users beware. The vapor that is released is also harmless to those around us unlike cigarette smoke. It can also be more affordable depending on how much you spend on equipment and how much e-liquid you consume (on average on 30ml bottle lasts about 4-5 days).
So how do you do it?
Basically it’s a battery with a wire coil element that heats flavoured and nicotine infused (you can get it in varying strengths or none at all) poly & vegetable glycerine to the point of vaporization. The size/strength of the battery, resistance & size of the coil element and the amount of air that passes through the coil effect the flavour and amount of vapor that is created.
So how do you get the best flavour?
Flavour is very subjective, everyone has different tastes. That said its a balancing act between the amount of power and air that passes through the coil. Its not about lots of power and lots of air. That would be the goal of the CloudChaser, someone looking for lots of vapor and this usually sacrifices flavour.
What do you do now?
There are two styles of inhaling, one is mouth to lung (think smoking a cigar and inhaling some of the smoke) and the other is a direct lung inhale (closer to how you would smoke a cigarette). You need to pick one of these styles as it will effect the equipment you will need to accomplish it.
The winning combination.
So for mouth to lung inhalers usually a higher resistance coil (1-2 ohms) with less power (20 watts or less) and a tighter air draw (less air to the coil) can get you into the flavour zone.
For direct lung inhalers you need more air to the coil which means a looser draw. Usually this also means you will want more vapor too, so lower resistance on the coil (0.4-1 ohms) with more power (20 watts or more) along with that looser draw will get you in the zone too.
This is just the start, it’s a quest, equipment keeps changing and improving and so will the ultimate flavour solution…
