The much hyped, impossible to get, super over valued market priced, M-Atty by Meb Mods. It’s been cloned. This might be the ultimate example for when it’s okay to try out a clone, even if you have the $800+ to buy one, good luck finding one. So let’s find out if it’s all its hyped out to be…
YES. YES. YES. This is one of the first hyped attys we have tried that is worth every ounce of hype it gets. If we had the extra cash and access to one, we would be extremely tempted to fork over the cash. The design is a masterpiece of thinking and execution. It’s a very efficient design, with the perfect balance of open space and airflow with a killer clamp style post system that makes building a breeze. It’s much more compact than it photographs, it really is a tiny giant.
Flavour is incredible, it’s so good that the AFC really doesn’t effect the flavour, fully open or closed down, all the AFC does is effect the draw (sure there is a slight flavour improvement, but it’s minuscule). The quality of flavour is really quite unbelievable, and so accurate that you can taste the moment your wicks begin to beg for more liquid.
Airflow is so dialled in, the perfect amount of resistance with enough flow to allow for impressive vapor production. It’s a nice dense vapor that can be dialled in for warmth or cool vapes. The AFC isn’t overly quiet but there isn’t an ounce of whistle. There is one slight flaw in the design, because of the great vapor production and condensed size, over time the AFC will squeeze out a couple drops of liquid when replacing the drip tip after a refill at its seam. Cleaning it occasionally between reworks solves it pretty good, if only there was an o-ring below the AFC holes too.
Building on the M-atty is a real pleasure. The clamps work just as well as they look, clamping down on the wire easily and creating very good conductivity. Your build is so secure they last forever, there is very little movement in your coils, even when rewicking.
Wicking is pretty easy, there is lots of room and using larger coils only helps accommodate larger wicks that helps condensed the chamber even further (leading to awesome flavour). Our favourite build is a 5 Wrap, Spaced, 25awg, 3mm, Dual Coil coming in at 0.25-0.3 and run at 45-55W. It’s a perfectly warm, super flavourful vape. The 5 Wrap perfectly fills the AFC slots.
Juice capacity is surprising for it’s size, easily taking 20+ drops and lasting a decent number of pulls. The design of the drip tip/top cap makes dripping a super easy undertaking and it also gives a beautiful view of your build. One thing you must get to compliment this procedure is the JMK M-Atty Integral Drip Tip they fit beautifully and intensify the flavour while keeping things cool to your lips (the metal Drip Tip is almost unusable the way we like to vape).
The M-atty is an atty that every vaper needs to experience. Even if you are turned off by all the hype, the clone finally makes this unicorn accessible to all. It’s as good as all the hype, maybe even more. To be honest we never heard about how great it vaped, it was always about it’s scarcity, crazy cost, and the hand check status. Now that we know, it will never leave our rotation, and really it may be the new bench mark for all RDAs moving forward. Go grab yourself one right now.
The Clone is great quality but they did miss the O-ring tolerances by just a tad, it’s fully functioning as is, but find some better O-rings and it’s rock solid (easy enough to find).
What’s your thought if compare to the narda RDA Sir? I means on the flavour side.
Hey Sheldon,
The Narda is great for higher Ohms(0.8+), single and duel coil builds, it does suffer from a loud AFC(whistling) and spitback at times. The M-Atty is great for a warmer build(0.2-0.4) with tons of flavour, it’s quiet, easy to drip, build, and use. If we had to choose, M-Atty for sure, it’s just a better all around vape. Flavour is pretty close to call for either of them, they both have great flavour, it’s more about the overall experience.
Thanks for the information bro,ur review really help a lot!
I’ve tried every build I can put on the m-atty, and it has been poor flavor at best. My mephisto and stillare had better flavor.
Definitely not worth the hype.
What’s your thought if compare to the hobo drifter RDA clone Sir? clone to clone and authentic too?
I means on the flavour side and over all?
Hey Roni,
The Drifter Authentic is well worth grabbing and is much more affordable and easier to obtain then the M-Atty. As for flavour they are both very good, the hobo excels at both cool and warm vapes whereas we find the M-Atty seems best with a nice warm build. Hope this helps, if you can, buy both.
thank a lot for your advice Ryan. this is very helpful.
maybe I would pick drifter clone first, what the nice set up for that?
I had stop smoking for 2 weeks, no cigarette att all, and since that I being vaper.
I used narda clone for now, and your set ut for that is very good.
Hey Roni,
We hope you enjoy the Drifter, try to grab an authentic if you can (they are worth it!). Check out our Drifter Review for a good setup.
Thank you Ryan.
This very helpfull. I will grab the drifter.
So hard found drifter authentic here, but i bought m-atty clone for a month.
What the best setting for that because nobody sell khantal 25awg here?
Only 20, 22, 24, 28, …
Thank you before.
Hey Roni,
The next best thing would be 24awg. Enjoy the atty!
with 2.5mm or 3mm coil diameter.?
And how about with clapton 26+32awg.?
Hey Roni,
All sound like good options. Don’t be afraid to play around. The Claptons will provide a pretty warm vape, the vapor chamber is pretty condensed. 2.5 or 3mm really comes down to what you are comfortable fitting in the deck. Have fun and Vape on!
One more.
How about coil positioning? Close to AFC or right on the middle?
This review and the site in general helped me a lot when I had to decide which RDA fits me best. The M-Atty clone has been wonderful, the flavour and the overall experience kept me going on making this the primary RDA in my daily rotation. The only downside is due to the intense flavour, I can’t get enough satisfaction from another RDA (even from the flavour oriented ones). Do you have any suggestions on what RDA I should pick up next? Thanks in advance.
Hey Ronald!
That sounds like a great problem to have! The Hobo Drifter is great, as is the Le Magister and both are available in clone if thats what you are looking for. Two high end authentics would be the Armor 1.0 and the Hellfire Havoc. Any of these are great intense flavour attys. Happy you like the site and find it helpful!
Fortunately enough, I have the chance to borrow a friend’s Drifter clone, gonna be experimenting on that one. In the mean time I’m still playing with the DDP Typhon Clone, again, based on your review. It has been a great vape with your exact recommended settings. Thank you for the honest and spot on reviews. This is so far the best flavourchaser reference-worthy site I’ve found to date. Keep on going!
Awesome. Thanks Renald for the kind words. The drifter should be a treat. Vape on!
Hi, I bought the SXK clone of this from fasttech, but it doesn’t come with a bf pin. Any idea where I can get one, or how to make my own?
Hey David,
We haven’t seen a BF pin for the clone M-Atty as of yet. You might have more luck finding an authentic pin set and seeing if it fits the clone.
Can someone tell me the O-Ring sizes for the M-Atty Clone?
Not sure.. but the O-rings from the Le Magister fit perfectly.. I think they are pretty common 22mm O-rings.
