We are fans of simple mods that get the job done. The Tesla Invader III not only gets it done, it looks great, performs well, and feels ruggedly awesome in the hand. It’s very similar to the famed and ever popular HexOhm, but at a steal of a price with some added features/capabilities.
The Invader feels military grade in the hand. It’s a solid, hefty mod, not too large, and feels very nice to hold thanks to the high quality casting and finishing. It has a look and feel of something that should cost a lot more than it does. This is an extremely well priced mod, sure the 510 connection could be beefier and the potentiometer could have proper labeling and be easier to adjust, but everything works as it should and all for an amazingly low price. This is a perfect mod if you don’t like all the do-dads and bells & whistles of most mods but want some safety protection and variable voltage, oh yeah and a ton of power!
This mod is rated to fire down to 0.1 Ohms with a max current output of 45 Amps, so it is possible to have it fire as much as 290W (0.15 Ohm build at 6.6 V). Now this would be insane, and is not recommended. But it does mean you will always have as much power as you need for sane levels of vaping (Setting: I 3.6V, II 4V, III 4.6V, IV 5.4V, & V 6.6V). It’s also great that the Invader has 6 different safety features that include; low battery voltage, reverse polarity, over current, over firing (10 sec), short-circuit, and over operating temp.
The Invader is so close to the original HexOhm that we need to compare them. So where the Invader bests the HexOhm is in the 0.1 Ohm lowest firing resistance (vs 0.3 Ohm), an indicator light (fire, safety issue, low battery, and on/off), 240W power rating (vs 110 W), and the ability to turn on/off (5 clicks). The HexOhm has the famous and awesome fire button, a better quality/labeled potentiometer, beefier 510, and a price tag that’s at least $100+.
So what’s it like using a mod with no screen? Well pretty great actually, you learn quickly that you just dial in the power you need to get the vape you want by turning a little dial at the front of the mod (always start low and dial up). There is a huge benefit, battery life! We consistently get around 24hrs of 50W+ vaping!
We have to give complements to the designer on the battery door, it’s one of the most seamless fitting doors we have ever seen. The old school jerry can aesthetic adds flavour, and functionality by adding extra grip, it grows on you quickly. And really just overall it’s so well finished in high quality anodized aluminium with smooth bevels everywhere, it’s awesome. Check out the blue colourway it was sent to us without choice but has quickly grown on us, it looks dope with just about anything on top of it.
The Tesla Invader III is a dead simple, kick ass mod that is built like a tank and gets the job done. And for $45 it’s a no brainer, it would make a great back-up mod or a rough & tumble mod for when you’re doing activities where you don’t want your high priced babies out in the world. Buy one, you’ll love it.
Bought this today after reading this review; and since my full mech wasn’t giving me the power I wanted and my VGod minikin felt like it doesn’t give me the power i needed under the right wattages.
I spent $36 dollars. Best $36 I’ve ever spent.

I am in the military and tend to break mods a lot. Everything that feels rugged are built cheap to make room for all the extras. This box is simple, clean, and has a great feel. I haven’t had it very long but I have a feeling it will be around longer than my others!
Hey Devin,
You have picked the perfect mod.. it truly is a tough device. Practically bulletproof. Enjoy it! Great battery life too!
Seriously. I dropped this off of my friends third story balcony when slightly drunk and it hit hard dirt and gravel below: about 50 feet at least. The magnetic battery cover popped off. That’s it. Snap and it’s back on, brush it off… fires perfect without a scratch on it. Passed my drunk test = A+
