We loved the Norbert Origen Little and the Tiny Tank is no different. Think of it as same great vape experience with a little more on the go convenience…
Norbert just kills every design he does. There is a very own-able design aesthetic that every Norbert Atty has. There is something a little cleaner to the Tiny because it lacks the trademarked finned top cap but it’s still very much an Origen.
Everything about this atty screams quality and well thought out design. Sure it has a plastic tank but at less than $10 for a replacement who cares. It would be nice if it came with a drip tip, especially because the one Norbert has designed for it is simply awesome (great size and mouth feel). The Materials are all of the highest quality and everything functions flawlessly. The deck and killer post design is exactly the same as the Little. Really the only difference is instead of a top cap you have a 1.5ml tank section that sits in its place. The AFC is also the same but with just one set of airflow inlets as you can only run a single coil on this atty. The other side of the deck houses two removable juice outlet pipes that keep you wick saturated and self drip with the change in pressure created by your inhale. It’s an ingenious execution and it works perfectly.
The build is again the same procedure as the Little, but easier because you only need to build one coil. We find that a 5-6 wrap, 2.5mm, 24-26awg, 0.3-0.4 Ohm build run 20-25W producers a great vape. Being only 16mm the vapor chamber is tiny, so running high watts isn’t necessary or prudent. Running to high we have noticed that the wicking has trouble keeping up, but it’s not an issue because it’s a great warm vape at 22W.
Wicking is easy but needs to be done in a particular way. You need to have cotton under the juice outlet pipes to stop it from flooding the deck. So all you do is leave your wick leads long enough to flow under the posts and over to the empty side of the deck. Just keep things fluffy and not too packed and it will be good to go. It’s not a hard thing to learn, maybe a little trial and error at first to find the right amount of cotton.
Flavour is great but placing your coils directly in front of the AFC will get you the best results. If you don’t have the airflow passing directly through the coil there is a noticeable difference in flavour intensity but with your coil raised slightly you do get a more open draw which some may prefer over the most intense flavour. For us the draw is a perfect restricted lung hit wide open.
Filling the tank is a little weird but easy to do. Pop the tank off, flip upside down and fill through one of the juice outlet pipes with a needle nose or unicorn bottle. You can also remove one of the outlets to fill if you have a dropper or larger tipped bottle. The 1.5ml lasts surprisingly long, not once have we thought the atty would be better with a larger tank. But there is also a larger version of the atty now offered by Norbert, the Origen 19/22. We get a good hour of chain vaping out of a tank, that’s plenty.
This is a great atty, great flavour, impressive vapor production for how small it is, and great if you are looking for a stealthy vape. Partnering this atty with a JMK 22-16 Machi ring gives you a pretty dope looking package too. Really this is a great atty for any vaper but also great for a beginner who wants to get into rebuildables, it’s just so easy to build and get great results from. Grab one of these little gems and don’t forget to grab the drip tip too, you’ll love it!
I love this little tank but finding a mod it looks good on has proved tricky because it’s so small, nevertheless it gives one great, dense, flavourful vape.
I find the AFC ring can sometimes rotate when I’m tightening the tank to a mod, no matter how tightly I screw the fixing ring above it. Not had this issue with my previous full size Origin tanks; Might be a fat finger issue.
Purchased a fixed ‘Big Bore Tank N1’ mod from Alliance Tech Vapor but it’s a slightly different vaping experience as it goes from a restricted direct lung to a pretty open lung tank. Similar draw to the Origin Little 16 with the largest dual holes. Flavor remains similar but it goes through juice far more quickly compared to the stock AFC on the largest setting.
