Oh Vaponaute, what to say that we haven’t already… If you don’t know them or their attys then you don’t really know vaping. Their track record for making flavourchasing attys is pretty undeniable. Not every one has been a huge success but each has delivered outstanding flavour, innovation, and a cult like following. Le Concorde is their latest RDA and seems to be their answer for the squonking revival that is happening in the industry. Sure you could use it as a standard dripper but it’s designed to be a BF or squonking atty.
Just look at this thing. It’s obvious that Vaponaute products are a celebration of Art Deco Aviation, the lines of every device, logo, and bottle label reflect and embody it beautifully. Clean simple lines, with edges and curves in all the right places. Le Concorde might be the more aggressive of their attys when it comes to styling, there are hard, crisp edges and an extremely low profile. Inside is where the innovation comes to light. We are impressed that they didn’t go the dual airflow on a single coil like all the others lately (all of which are taking a page out of NarMods book). Instead we have 3 airflow inlets directed at the center of the coil in a semi-circle like fashion. This envelopes you coil to provide outstanding flavour. The Build deck is more simple than it looks, for most dropping in a single coil is all you will use it for and the four screws allow for coils to be spun in either orientation. However some creative builders are dropping in dual vertical coils (we haven’t tried it, simply no need). Two half circle cut outs parallel to the deck complete the design features and offer an easy rest for your tool as you set your coil in to place.
Flavour is outstanding. The design of the airflow and how it hits and envelopes your coil produces dense and extremely flavourful vapor. Everything about the design has be optimized for flavour, it’s low profile (vapor has hardly any distance to travel), it can handle larger builds (not that you would want to), oh that airflow, and finally the chamber is really reduced. In other words, it’s a flavour machine.
Airflow is a perfect, and we mean perfect restricted lung hit wide open. Dial in 1, 2, or all 3 AFC holes to get you perfect draw. With one hole it is a true MTL vape, Vaponaute started in the MTL space and has always been loyal to it’s followers. There is also a single hole AFC hole vs the cyclops slot to allow you to dial in further in MTL mode as to which of the 3 internal air inlets is hitting the coil (something MTL vapers will really appreciate).
Building is simple, the deck screws are large enough to trap your wire leads under. So pick one on each side and trap away. We like a 4 wrap, 26×2/38 N80 Clapton, 2.5mm coming in around 0.3 ohms and run on a mech squonker. Prefect warm and delicious vape. Have your coil leads coming from the top of the coil and push it down a hair to align with the top of the build deck (not the screws). Place in a nice fluffy wick and have the wick leads just rest on the deck and you are good to go.
Juice capacity is better than you would think for such a low profile. Now we have only used it as a BF atty, but you can squonk with very little risk of making a mess. Just watch the AFC holes as you squonk, the second you see juice let off the bottle and you are again good to go. The BF pin works beautifully, clears the excess quickly and is easy to fill without too much back pressure.
When a new atty comes out or is even announced by Vaponaute you should just go for it, order it blindly and get excited in knowing you will receive something special. The Le Magister RDA is still very near and dear to our hearts (our first expensive high end atty) and the Le Concorde is another just like it, an atty you will never part with once you own one. A timeless design that will look good on anything and performs at a standard that is hard to beat. Really the only con might be the price, but then again when it performs like it does and is built in France by hand, is it though? Le Concorde est fantastique!
