Sometimes great things come in small packages… The Norbert Origen Little RDA is one such little miracle. At about the width of a finger it sure is small but it packs a serious flavour punch.
Aesthetically it fits right in with the rest of the Origen family. Surprisingly it’s easy to manage and build for an atty that is so small. As usual with all Norbert attys the fit and finish are immaculate and the tolerances on everything are perfect. There is a rather satisfying snap as you push down the top section on to the base/deck every time. Every detail has been thought of and mastered. Norbert is definitely one of the best in the world at what he does.
Flavour is insane, and it should be with such a small vapor chamber. The amazing part is you can easily fit a 5-6 wrap 2.5mm coil on either side of the deck. We thought it would be tight as hell to build, but it isn’t at all. Really it’s very simple. Norbert has designed a very ingenious post, each post has 4 holes that are cross drilled (creates an X) and this allows you to place your wire leads in easily and in a cross formation that clamps down extremely well.
The flavour is clean and very crisp, its all about the condensed height and chamber. Wicking is easy for duals and for a single you need to run your wicks through the center and over to the empty side of the deck for best performance. Another surprise is the amount of juice you can drip, easily taking 10 drops and lasting enough time to get 3-5 long glorious hauls. But squonking with the BF (bottom feed) pin is where this atty flourishes. Being able to keep those wicks saturated with ease makes this vape experience almost pure nirvana.
Airflow is whatever you make it. There are 4 different airflow options going from a perfect restricted lung hit to a great MTL. Really this atty can make almost anyone happy no matter what style of vape you enjoy (that is if you’re a Flavourchaser). Setting your coils for optimal airflow is easy, just line them up with the air inlets and call it a day.
The build is a 5-6 wrap in anything from 28-24awg with ohms anywhere from 1 to 0.4 run at 15-30W. There isn’t one build that is a lot more flavourful than the other, they are all good. Really it comes down to vape temp and how much battery life you’re after. We like our 25awg, it’s a nice in the middle temp that is really satisfying. Single coil builds are also quite nice, you get a bit more airflow with the empty space in the chamber and the flavour may be slightly muted over a dual but it’s still great. We have noticed the need to squonk or drip more with a single though, we can’t understand why, but that’s what we have experienced.
Sure it’s about a $100 USD, which some of you will find expensive. But this is one of those attys you need to experience, this kind of engineering and quality is worth every penny. And if dripping isn’t your thing there is a tank version, the Origen Tiny Tank! We will have a quick little review for it shortly, it’s got an identical deck but can only run in single coil because the self dripping tank needs the other side for it’s down spouts. We can tell you now it’s just as good and gives you the convenience of a 1.5ml tank that lasts longer than you would think. Which ever version you decide to grab we guarantee you won’t be let down. Treat yourself to a Norbert.
Hi Ryan,
would you give any suggestion for single coil build with ni80 or other tips maybe?
Hey Ari,
Take a look at our pics and suggested build in the review. The wire type doesn’t make a huge difference. Ni80 has a faster ramp up time but also a shorter shelf life (tends to crack under use, be sure to change your coils more often than you would with Stainless, Ti, or Kanthal).
Hi Ryan!!
Its about a year old this atty, but im impress with your opinion about this little creature!
Do you think that for a squonker mod still a great option or in your opinion i should get a newer atty?
regards
