The HexOhm v2 is a regulated Box MOD, it has a chip to help regulate/offer variable power settings. It has the look of a mean & clean mechanical box mod while offering some safety and protection. It hits hard, has up to 110Watts of power (more than you need) and 3.3-6Volts that you dial in with a little nob (almost hidden, which is awesome) on the side. It’s light and has a strong textured finish, and the button, oh the button! The button has a great location, very clicky, and needs enough pressure that it won’t fire in your pocket. You don’t realize how nice a great button is till you have one, it’s the most used feature on you MOD. There is no screen on this one, which is the trade off for the clean look, so you adjust each atomizer/coil to taste (start low on the dial and work up till you think it might be too dry/hot and then lower a little) which is not a big deal. The build quality and internal wiring are top notch. If you are interested in getting into the higher end more bespoke end of vaping, then the HexOhm v2 is a good place to start.

Vaporshark and Evolv are two of the most innovative american companies on the market. Their latest colab was for a time the most advanced MOD on the market. The rDNA has great build quality, the first to have temperature control (stops dry hits or burnt coils when using coils made with nickel wire), and a nice clean design. It’s a steathy vape for sure, has a nice rubbery paint finish (its shows wear & tear around the 510 over time), and a big bright screen placed on the bottom of the device (novel placement). But, overall its a little underpowered, temp control is very finicky (you will need to constantly reset your atomizer/device by taking it on and off a lot), building nickel sort of sucks (it’s softer wire making it more delicate, and it has lower resistance, meaning you need more of it, which gets tricky in cramped space that most atomizers have), and it’s relatively expensive (there is better out there for your money). Buy it if you are in love with the design and are happy with only 40Watts of power, as for temperature control, it’s very early to get too serious with it, it can be good in an RDA or using expensive temperature coils for Clearomizers (really only gives you the choice of an Aspire Nautilus or Kanger Subtank, and there are much better Clearos). You will out grow this one quickly if you are still on your journey of discovery, you will want more power and get tired of nickel builds quickly.

For the money this is a great little MOD, if 30Watts of power is enough for you and you want a stealthy vape, then the Cloupor Mini 30W is a great option. The build quality is quite good for the money, it does show some wear & tear after about a month of use (nothing too serious). There are some silicone sleeves available here on Fastech that would solve the wear & tear (they come in red, blue, and black). There was an issue of overheating when the device launched but it seems to be ironed out and there is a quick test to make sure you have a good unit (put on an atomizer, pump it to 30W, and fire it for the full 10 sec limit, if there aren’t error messages you are good to go), if you get a bad one, Cloupor will replace it. All said its not perfect, but it is good value and not bad to look at. One note, there have been issues with using the built in battery charger, it’s best, safer, and faster to use an external charger with most mods anyway.
