Sigelei has entered the Temp Control game in a big way with both 75 & 150W devices. We have be stoked to get our hands on the 75W for awhile and it was worth the wait! Now is the time and this is the device for you to grab it you having been holding out on getting a TC mod! It has everything you need in a tight little package that won’t break the bank.
We had hoped this would be the same chipset as the Snow Wolf but it seems to be different and it’s okay cause it works great. This is a very nice little mod, it has a great hand feel and isn’t overly heavy or large. It’s much lighter than the SX Mini M-Class and is similar in dimensions but just a tad smaller and thinner. The price on this one is the big factor, for under $100 you are getting a mod that is just as good if not better than mods costing double if not more! It’s build quality is very good, nice crisp buttons that are easy to use (they almost stick out too much for us), super bright and crisp screen, heavy well built battery doors, it’s all really good and it feels premium but at the same time a little cheap. It’s not a bad thing, maybe it’s the light weight or the plastic midsection, me can’t put our finger on it. Maybe we are just used to heavy, super solid, overpriced mods.
As for the usual suspects, it has a spring loaded 510, takes a single 18650, fires down to 0.05 Ohms (both Modes), fires up to 75W (both Modes), and the battery life is barely decent for a single battery mod that fires higher wattages. A nice design difference it that both sides act as battery doors, both are magnetic and have little nubs to keep everything nice and tight and secure. Really you need access to both sides anyway, you need to take both off and push the battery through to get it out. There isn’t a single rattle anywhere on this one, it’s super solid and well thought out. One little gripe we have is the fire button placement could be a little higher on the mod to stop you from touching the screen as much when firing it.
The finishes look like they will hold up to abuse. The stainless side doors have a tasteful brushing, the logo is treated very nicely with an inlay. Even the battery vents are tasteful, overall both the 75 and the 150 have much improved design aesthetics over what Sigelei usually puts out. The centre section looks to be a rugged ABS plastic that should be pretty tough and be some what resistant to scratches and scuffs. Time will tell, but in the week or so we have had it, not a single mark has appeared. We are also happy to report this in not a fingerprint magnet which is awesome.
This little mod hits hard enough, and seems to be rather accurate. There are no sleep/wakeup issues, it’s an immediate fire every time. Temp Mode is great, it works, and is easy to set and adjust thanks to the on the fly ability to change both Wattage & Temp without menu diving (press the up & down buttons together to toggle between watts & temp). It doesn’t show live temp readings but it will warn you when you have reached the max temp. A big bonus for this amount of cash is it hits up to the full 75W in temp mode! Switching into temp mode is done by holding both up & down buttons at the same time for 3 secs and the most import piece which is not mentioned anywhere in the manual is the resistance lock. You must lock the resistance on your coils for the temp control to work (it will not read your coil and use your last kanthal reading until you do, which you don’t want!), this is done by pressing the Fire & Down button at the same time. Once you are locked in, it’s a super reliable system.
The Sigelei 75W TC has to be one of the biggest bangs for your buck on the market currently. Sigelei took their time and got things right. We would give this a perfect rating if it wasn’t for the barely acceptable battery life and the miss on proper temp control instructions. That said this is still a mod to add to your collection, whether you are a new vapor or a pro you will appreciate this little puppy.
