With Squonking’s comeback, Eleaf has done it right with an entry level squonker that is easy to score and can get anyone squonking. Based on the popular Eleaf iStick Pico, it offers a ton of performance in a small package for a great price.
The Squeeze shares the exact same footprint and design as the iStick Pico minus the chipset, screen, and bottom interface buttons. Instead there is a 6.5ml squonk bottle in place of where the screen and chipset lived and instead of the interface buttons there is a great little magnetic door that gives access to the bottle. The battery compartment is identical and still houses an 18650 battery. It’s a pretty dope looking package that is super compact while still feeling natural in the hand. The side or edge accessible squonk bottle makes squonking a breeze that can be done in multiple ways.
There is a chipset that limits power to 50W (too bad) and will fire down to 0.15 Ohms. Really the Squeeze functions like a mech, but with all the safety features needed to make it a worry free vape. With this in mind you need to build like using a mech, we have found you get the most enjoyment out of a 0.2-0.3 Ohm build. Anything above this and the vape becomes underwhelming pretty quickly. The included Coral BF RDA is a throw away, it just isn’t up to snuff and if you can, purchase just the mod instead of the kit. It’s a cheap setup either way, the kit is $30 or under and gives you a great Squonking experience. Keep in mind you need a decent BF RDA, Hobo v3/3.1, Drifter, Hadaly, DDP Typhon, or Havoc are all good choices (some being affordable second hand, or some in clone form with an included BF pin). So even though the mod is cheap, once you throw an RDA into the equation it’s still a bit of an investment. That said we have had just as good if not a better vape from the Squeeze than we have had with much more expensive Squonking mods (mech or regulated).
Battery Life is decent, but seeing as you need to push the mod to its limits to get a good vape (it’s a strange chip, you have no control and it just doesn’t shine with higher Ohm builds), you get about 4-6 hrs of solid vaping before it’s time for a fresh battery. You will also experience battery lag or drops in performance as your charge dissipates (like we said, it acts like a mech).
The fit and finish are very good for the price level, all metal construction, and a finish that really holds up. We haven’t treated our Squeeze with care and there is very little wear to show for it. The finish has a matte quality, but this might be what is keeping it so tough. There is an annoyance with the battery life indicator, it seems like it’s always flashing at you. It lights up on fire and then flashes battery level at you (in a series of different sequences depending on battery level). It’s a bright little LED that sort of kills any chance at a stealthy vape.
The Pico Squeeze is one tiny little Squonker that can get you in the game at a rather affordable price. There are a couple little issues, no deal breakers (battery cap can get hard to remove, squonk bottle shows wear easily and can be a bit of a pain to remove and replace, the bright ass battery indicator, and it’s 50W power limit), but at the price they are all non-issues. It feels great in the hand and is durable and dependable. It does the job very well and looks pretty decent, the squeeze is well worth picking up, we keep using ours.
